Sound of Music Tour

In the morning, we went to downtown Salzburg and caught the Sound of Music tour bus.  It took us around to the different sites that were used to make the movie and told us trivia along the way.  This is the lake used in the movie, but not the house.  It was the place that had the glass house that they used, but because of visitors after the movie was made, they moved the glass house to another location.

The Austrian Lake District.  We were taken up into the mountains.  It was rainy, but very pretty.

This is during the biking scene.

This wasn't in the movie, but the place they moved the glass house to had the most amazing rose garden.

No one would stand on the lane for me except for Jer.  Bless him for being willing!  I think this is my favorite picture of him from the entire trip.

This was part of the palace gardens.  Interestingly, this palace was built for the King's mistress.  They had tons of kids together.  I kind of wonder if any of them became his successor or if their unmarried status kept them from that.

The tour guide thought that Jer's (my mom's umbrella) was really funny.

There was a dwarf "garden" at the palace too.

I don't mind getting wet, but every time I turned around Jer was taking care of me.... sweet man.

K, I think only Seth will understand this one.  Jer and I were both singing when they took this picture.  "I am a dwarf and I'm digging a whole, diggy diggy hole..."

Love this funny man.
