random

Silly big kids.  We were ready to play games before bed and they were being all giggly.

We had an amazing D&D session.  It was so funny.  There were magic potions, size changing badgers, ninjago snake guys, etc.... it was fun.

Sam and Jer and training for a half marathon together.  It's Sam's first one, but Jer said that he's doing amazingly.

Evelyn and I got to go on a temple date together to the Mt Timp temple.  That was fun.  I haven't been to that one in ages.

My mom, Evelyn and I went to the Snow White ballet together.  It was so cute.  Evelyn LOVED the dwarfs and was talking about how she would love one of their roles and how she knew which dwarf was which.  It was fun to be with these two wonderful women.

Jer and I went to the symphony with Jim, Amy, Jon and Isabelle (first time goer).  It was pretty and rainy.... including a double rainbow right above the newly finished (outside) Salt Lake temple.

But along with the rain, our neighborhood flooded again.  Our house, our neighbor's home and the row of town homes all needed to be bailed out.  Nick made the comment, "Thank you for coming to our annual 100 year storm clean up.  I really wish that we could nail down a day for it."

Jim and Jer working on trains.

Evelyn and I have been seeing a specialist about her eyes.  They want to detach the muscles from both eyes, straighten them out and reattach them again.  She's trying to decide what to do.  I'm trying to research the surgeon.

Grad party

We threw Ada a little grad party at the church.  We had cake, chocolate (of course), played games, karaoke, etc... Evelyn helped me set up a photo wall of about 100 of my favorite photos of the last 18 years.  How do you pare down a life into a few pictures?  Ada put out a set of scriptures to write down your favorites in.  That was fun.  I still need to write my note to her in it.  Both sets of Grandparents came by as well as ward friends, FBLA friends, graduated friends and cousins. Jer helped set up, left for the stake leadership meetings, and then came to help clean up.  All the work and none of the fun.  He definitely went out of his way to make sure he made it for a little while though.  I appreciated it.

The last little bit

The last bit has been filled with Jer's new calling, eye doctor, orthodontist appointments, dance, Ada's job, carpooling Mia and Chris, helping find an apartment, wrestling, two weddings, soccer, Sam's practice Stats AP test (got a 4 out of 5) and the big boy train came through town.

Jim, Jer and Seth got to see the Big Boy.  I'm sad that we all couldn't go.  It was so fun last time but Seth hadn't been born yet.  I'm glad he got to see it.

Lizzie's wedding.

Ada and I planted flowers, veggies and tied back the roses as well as released lady bugs.  That was fun.

Carpooling buddy.

Seth was a fan of Ada's job.

We took turns picking each other up.  I could almost pick up Seth, but Ada, Sam and Evelyn could all pick up Dad.

Seth's legs were too short to pick up Ada.

Mia Sandwich.
Robyn took Mesh and I to a play for our birthdays.  She really is a person who cares about those around her.

Rhees Family

This is such a fun family.  They're sweet and playful.  It's fun to get to know them and try not to freeze in the cold rain!  It was...
