Bear Lake #1

 

We got back in school, Sam started the week with the flu, but we ended the week with an overnight stay at Bear Lake with my family.  Nellie had to leave before we got there for work, but we loved having everyone there.  I love my siblings, parents and niblings.  I love to see my kids grow and still have joy in little things like skipping rocks.  I caught Jer and Ada making drip castles.... Sam, Ada and Jer digging holes with cousins... and Seth and I skipping rocks.  He found the "master rock" that would skip at least 5 times.  My cousin, Wendee, also came up with her family.  That was fun to catch up.  I never actually saw Evelyn in the water, but she loved playing games with Uncle Seth, Ada, Sam and Dad.

Ada woke Jer and I up so that we could do a Senior Sunrise with her.  I hope she has a great Senior year. 

Misc

Jer is the cutest.  He has been practicing duets to play with me.  I think it's my favorite "extra" thing he's ever done for me.

Evelyn took a turn as the usher at church.

Summer daycare

My friend, Michelle, and our yearly campfire.  I enjoy talking to her.  I know this year has been rough for her and I hope she has a better one.  I love seeing her and chatting.  She's a fun friend.

I say it looks like a nose.  Seth says it's a mitten.

Evelyn gave the prayer at church the other day too.  She was nervous and wanted to say no.  But she did it and did it well!  Bro Murinaka was so cute.  He walked to our house and asked her in person.  Then he helped her not be nervous.  Good man!

Ada gave blood for the first time.  Jer goes regularly and invited Ada to go too.  She was nervous but did it anyways!  I'm proud of my kids learning to do things that scare them.  She has o- blood, so they might be asking her again.  Grandpa has golden blood.  His is O- and it's negative for all the things that they test for.... universal donor. She might be related.

 

harvest

Jim and Judy left town for a few days and asked if Jer would pick the garden.  Our kids love doing that.  Ada would live in their garden if she could. We ate zuchinni, squash, blackberries, tomatoes and corn.  All delicious.  Thank you for sharing!

 

Sam's summer

Sam entered a gaming tournament this month and won.  He got this nifty trophy and $20 gift card.  Good job Sam!

He's been doing lots of music practice all summer.  Recorder, piano, flute, piccolo, sax and Evelyn started teaching him the violin.  It was cute seeing the two of them sit and work on songs together.  The daycare kids loved when he would play the flute or recorder for them.  I have some cute pictures of all of them holding sticks and pretending to play the recorder with him.

 

Hiking

 

Jer and the kids have gone to Stewart Falls and Hamburger walk this last couple of weeks.  I love my hikers and I'm proud of them.
