Harding Family reunion

I haven't been to a Harding family reunion in years.  This time, it was a week after the 4th so we were able to make it.  

The boys decided to play spike ball on the raft.  They said that if they missed, they had to jump in the water.

Evelyn decided to learn to crochet... so we spent the first hour teaching and she spent the next two days doing.

It was my Dad's birthday too.  We spent the evening celebrating at and Airbnb.  We had dinner, went swimming, chatted, etc...

Ada and Alexx drove up a couple days early in our van.  The AC was broken and they drove almost 8 hours in July in the heat.

When we got home, Vinn thought that we smelled particularly well and kept rolling around on Evelyn's bag.

Lance took this picture of the sunset.  He and Ada did a photo contest.  It was cute.

Mark restored the bell that Seth and Vivien found with a metal detector.  It was Great-Grandma Harding's.

Liz won this handprint sheet in 1992 with all the cousins and Grandparents that were present.  Sharon had paint and Liz's boyfriend had a sheet that he donated and we did the activity again.

 

Ellis Reunion #2

 

My kids and Sara's kids got along famously.  They were all trying to sit on the paddle board at the same time.  It was so funny to watch them. Several ended up with friction burns afterwards.

This one we have Eric pop up in the background and cute Ada giving Alexx a "what the heck" face as she takes pictures.

There were so many Canadian geese.  Literally 25 or more every morning.  We all thought someone had brought their dog to the lake.... but the geese were wandering through and pooping everywhere.  I picked up at least two 5-gallon buckets full of poop with my kids when we got there so that everyone could use the beach.

Nellie brought a little metal detector and Seth with his cousin, Freya, were going around digging up bottle caps, nails and wires.  Wade saw this and asked Bruce if he could borrow his actual metal detector. They dug holes happily all day and found a really neat discovery. My Mom's Grandma Harding used to call everyone to dinner with a little cow bell.  It went missing years ago.  These three found it!  It was very rotted, but what a fun thing to find!  Some of my older cousins say that they remember it.  I personally don't, but it's so fun!
