Ada's in college!

I have a college student.  Can you believe that it's been 19 years since becoming a mom?  Jer and I got her moved up to her apartment where she's meeting her roommates, looking for a job and enjoying her classes and working out at the gym.  Her tuition is paid for with scholarships and she's paying for living costs with what she has saved the last couple of years.  She is taking math, biochemistry, medical anatomy, country swing dancing and a health careers exploration class.  I'm very proud of her.  I'm sad that her church building is a 1/2 hour commute from her, but proud that she takes that commute anyways.  I cried dropping her off knowing that our dynamics were changing in a very real sense.  Happy that she wasn't states away yet and I love getting her calls at random points in the day.  I pray that she will grow in light and knowledge and that even the hard things will be for her good!

We got to go to lunch with Alexx and Maura as we dropped Ada off.  That was a fun visit.

Pre college game of Nertz

Ada and I went on a mommy daughter date while the kids started school and she was still home with me.  We did some last minute shopping, saw the Gilded doors at BYU together and had PF Changs.

Ada found a lot of fun clubs and groups to explore, including a Japanese one that was making onigiri.

My Sethie

Seth has been loving 7th grade.  He's a sweet kid.  He's loving anything new.  Ceramics, volleyball, percussion, karate free friends day with Jack, 3d printing projects, etc.... He is always ready for a hug.

Fun things

My friend, Beth, and I did a makerspace activity at the library.  It was fun to do somethings hands on.

We got to go swimming and Nellie's pool with my parents, Viv and Thea and Nellie.  That was fun, even if it was a little chilly in the middle of a heat wave.  Then we had a picnic at Nellie's house while the kids took turns telling Alexa to play different music.

Seth had a few free meals that he earned at school that expire in a month, so I took him on a lunch date.  This cute mug is always a good date.

Ada, Mom and I finished painting their library and got to go on a bike ride this week.  That was fun.  I didn't thing to take a picture of the finished painting, but I'll try to remember to do that.

YM's camp

The next week was YM's camp.  It's Seth's first and maybe Sam's last.... I'm glad that they had a chance to go together.  They were so cute.  They each got there and went to chat with their friend groups.  Sam said that the testimony meeting was amazing.  They also did a 7 mile hike out to a lake and did a survival test... they had to build a fire, structure and boil water.  Sam's group won that challenge but failed the putting up a tent challenge.  I asked Seth how it went when he got back, he said, "Amaze, amaze, amaze, amaze!" (which is a quote from his current favorite movie 'Hail Mary Project'.)

While they were gone, Beth took Evelyn and I to an art night at BYU museum.  It was about movement in lines and making personal works of art as testimony to share with others.

Ada and Jer went hiking with the Tarkingtons.  Timp had too much snow, so they only made it about 1/3 of the way up.

Jer cleaned the garage and the cats were worried about all the activity out there.

Evelyn passed the drivers test after spending two days reading the drivers manual.  Now to drive together a lot.  She was so nervous driving home for the first time.  I'm glad that we're on to the next step.

I went and got Tigress shaved for the very hot summer.

Misc week

Seth has had 3 birthday parties this week.  It's been crazy and he had to skip one because it was on my birthday and I wanted him with me.... but Jer graciously drove him to one at the end of Ada's graduation, so he wasn't in the graduation photos, but both him and Seth were there.

After the graduation, we went to 5 star bbq.  It was delicious and there was no wait at all.

Jim and Jer have been having hobby nights.  They help each other with trains and other things.  My favorite is hearing them laughing as they work.

These two got free graduation donuts.... the rest of us still wanted donut pictures.... hehehe.

Sam has been helping me with the daycare.  He's the cutest.  Here he's holding the two one year olds while I help the potty trainers in the bathroom.

My neice, Rae, had her graduation party too!  I can't believe that these guys are that old.  We had Ada graduate and 4 of her cousins this year.

YW camp kick off.

I wasn't feeling well so I went to take a nap.  I had a guardian.

Stake Conference.

Eli's missionary talk.  He did a spectacular job.  He was very Christ centered and direct.  He'll be a spectacular missionary.

Chris, Mia and Cristina invited us to their swimming pool.  All the kids ganged up against Seth saying that he was,"Demasiado poderoso!" Too powerful! in their water fight.  It was so funny.

Seth never draws at home, but he brought this back from his art class.  I was looking at his portfolio and I'm amazed at how precise he is in dimensions, perspective, etc... Who knew that he was so good?  Not his momma.  I love this picture because it's his cat, his living room window, his couch and the mountains outside.

Sabrina Squires had her opening art exhibit at the library this week too.  I really wanted to go, but we had so much going on.... But we made it to the last 15 minutes.  We got to chat with her, appreciate some new paintings and meet another artist that was her co presenter that does all insects.

Rhees Family

This is such a fun family.  They're sweet and playful.  It's fun to get to know them and try not to freeze in the cold rain!  It was...
