Florida Day 10 and 11

Last day, Emily took out to frozen yogurt and Ben met us for a minute at a park before we flew out.  I really love and appreciate Ben and Em and their family for the hospitality, conversations and sight seeing.  I'm so excited for their new baby Lucy and hope she gets here soon and safely. Maybe we'll make it out again when the kids are older and we can visit Harry Potter World together and eat bbqued sandwiches and Ghirardelli milkshakes.

Florida Day 9

Before I talk about our amazing Saturday, I forgot about a couple of things that happened during the early part of the week.  First is that baby officially has 5 teeth..... finally!  He's been teething for months and finally popped out the last two that I see.  And Evelyn had a really hard time peeing at the beach.  The first time we went, she wouldn't pee in the ocean because she was wearing her swimming suit. There weren't bathrooms around so we tried to get her to pee in the ocean... nothing doing. She held it allllllllll day and finally peed her pants on the bathroom floor when we got home.  The second time at the beach, Evelyn told me that she was going to take off her swimsuit and pee in a bucket... hmmmm...

Saturday we took a day trip out to San Augustine. Amazing!  This September the city is celebrating the 450th anniversary of the fort.  San Augustine is the very first settlement in North America from the European countries. Ponce de Leon and the Fountain of Youth.  The first 9 forts burned down, so they finally built this really neat fort.  Sam kept running around saying things like, "Mom, this is my very first time in a REAL fort!  We need to take lots of pictures!"  He was the one that posed for everything and that took my camera and took a lot of his own pictures. They did a cannon demonstration and shot blanks at a "pirate ship" in the bay.  It was hot, but it fun.

We also went to the Pirate's Museum right next to the fort.  That was fun. It's supposed to be the largest collection of Pirate memorabilia in the world. (This is a blunderbuss).

They even had an exhibit on movies with Pirates in them.

The walls were made out of shells.

This was fun... the Oldest Wooden Schoolhouse...

The strap on my flip flop broke, so these are kids waiting for me to go shoe shopping.

This is where we decided to stop for dinner.  It's a place called Cousteaus'. It was a waffles and shakes.  I would totally go there again.

This kid was all tuckered out!

We walked out to see the Spanish ship that they sail up and down the coast.  They call it El Galleon.

Ada kept posing cousins for pictures... I couldn't resist piggybacking on this one.

Rhees Family

This is such a fun family.  They're sweet and playful.  It's fun to get to know them and try not to freeze in the cold rain!  It was...
