misc from a busy week

Our lovely niece, Aubrey W, bought her own car and decided to come spend the night.  It was fun to see her. She helped at the football concession stand with Ada and then they came and talked til the fell asleep.  The next day, they went shopping and out for food together.  Such cuties.

Ada and Sarah both wore their camp hoodies to school on the same day.  They thought it was fun that they matched.

The power went out at church again.  It's been happening a lot more often as there are more strains on the electric companies with the new growth in the area.

Seth gave a cute talk in Primary.  I sure like being there to see him.

Ada's first carrot.

Ada... She fit just right once we got all the books out.  She and Alexx were amazing and pulled the bookshelves down to Jer's office so that we could dry out the carpet.

Tis peach season and Pyne orchard has done it again.  YUM!

Ada and Aubrey

I had the flu for the first time in ages.  I was sleeping and Vinn came to keep me company.

My Evelyn is catching on to the violin.  Not pro yet, but I love hearing her progress from last year.

Cute Dad and Seth

Sam gave a talk in sacrament meeting.  He did great.  He had our lawyer neighbor comment on the fact that he's not afraid when he speaks.  That's true!

We also got to go celebrate Aubrey, Devin, Michelle and Isaiah for their birthdays with a BBQ.  It was fun trying to find presents for these teens and their different talents and personalities. They're growing so beautifully.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

It's Evelyn's last week in Primary next week.  I'm sad and excited. I'm sad that the little kid phase of our life is ending so soon, but I'm excited that she's going to be in Young Women's with Ada and I.  I think she will love it and she's so good at serving others.  Our YW's group can use someone so happily enthusiastic as this sweet girl.  The Primary song leader, Virginia, had each of the primaries draw the nativity.  I think she said that the one on the right was the senior primary and the one on the left was the junior Primary.  How cute is this.

I'm so happy in this moment.  Sis Wheelhouse assigned a duet between Sam and Seth; also between Ada and Evelyn.  I love hearing my kids play music.  I love even more when they do it together.

Jer is amazing.  He knew I wanted one of these and he made it happen.  Instead of the very slow filtered water thing that we never use, this is a bottle sprayer.  You put a bottle or cup upside down and push.  It sprays out the inside and you can put it into the dishwasher.  With the daycare cups, sippy cups, bottles, cocoa cups, applesauce bottles, etc... it's very handy.

Even with a dead van outside, a messy house, dirty dishes in the sink and a grouted tile floor that needs to be sealed... we had to take time to start our Christmas tradition of stories on Dad's lap.  Ada had the flu and a friend that needed some emotional support.... so she's on the other side of the room.

Sam showing his style.  We were getting ready for our Stake Music Night.  Sam and Dad sang marvelously.  Ada was so sick, so she had to sit it out.  I only had concussion brain once during the song which is really great!  It was a very spirit filled night that ended up with a light induced headache.

Sam and Dad also got up at 4:30am yesterday to go to do baptisms at the temple with the youth.  I'm so proud of Sam!  He didn't even hesitate when I asked if he was going to go to the morning one. (Our ward had one scheduled for before school this week and one evening one for next week.) So proud of you kid.

Aftermath

This week has been crazy.  We got home Sunday from our trip, put things away and got the house ready for daycare.  Started daycare Monday, visited with Jim, Judy, James(who's in town), Amy and some of the Hansen family, got sick Friday morning, Ada and I were diagnosed with Covid, shut down the daycare for the weekend, found a substitute for our musical number on Sunday, called everyone to let them know they were exposed to covid and found out that two of my daycare kids had also just gotten sick with strep and hand foot and mouth.  It's been quite the week.  We were registered to run the temple to temple run, but hung out at our house instead.  By Saturday/Sunday the rest of the family were all starting to show symptoms.  So far my helper, Beth, and one of the daycare kids have come down with covid.  Hopefully that's as far as it goes.  It's possible that we gave it to the Hansens and Grandparents, but we're praying that if we did.... it goes well.  I'm supposed to open the daycare Wed again, so tomorrow is sanitize the house and toys day.  The rest of my family is supposed to get out of quarantine Thursday, so they'll stay upstairs while my daycare is down.  My daycare partner is in Ecuador right now otherwise I'd have her take them for the rest of the week. Oh well.

This is our second time with Covid.  This time it took about 3 really sick days and 2 kind of bleh days.  Ada and I have lost our sense of smell, but I prefer that to the tingly/itchy skin I had last time.

Rhees Family

This is such a fun family.  They're sweet and playful.  It's fun to get to know them and try not to freeze in the cold rain!  It was...
