So Homecoming this year was fun. Ada was in charge of the FBLA booth at the fair and Sam was supposed to be helping with the esports booth. Jer took Evelyn and Anna to the violin concert in Salt Lake. I took Seth to the booths at the high school. Ada made us concession stand food and we hung out for a while. Then Saturday, Sam and his friend group did a game date in our kitchen. Then Ada and her friend Elizabeth (who are both friends of Sarah, Sam's date), went and did her hair and makeup before they went for a dinner at Jack's house and the dance.
Sam just walked in from school about two weeks ago and let me know that he'd asked Sarah out to Homecoming. I didn't even know that it was going on. Ada was completely shocked because he hadn't said anything to her the whole drive home. It's both of their first dates. They're good friends so that makes for a good first date without too much awkwardness. We went and got Sam his first suit since he was 8 and some new Sunday shoes. I ordered a tie on Amazon on made her corsage. Sam and Jack planned the date and off they went. None of them had had their drivers licenses long enough to drive the group, so there was some parent involvement to get people where they needed to go and a very tired Sam at the end of the night. (He started the day with and hour long soccer game at 9am and didn't stop until after the dance).
Cute friends and a fun first date for both of them.
Sam was getting ready to mow the law after his soccer game, he was wearing mismatched swedish fish socks. I thought that was hilarious.
My guys.
Ada's booth.
Sam's booth. Ada and I were laughing that all the other booths were facing outwards and trying to engage with the crowd. The esports booth was facing the wall and they were playing video games. (Sam qualified for Varsity 1 this year. He's thrilled and nervous.) Ada and I started quoting galaxy quest, "Well at least (they're) outside."
This was the activity that the medical club had set up. It was fun.
