Utah State Fair

My kids did some summer reading programs this year.  They got free books, pizza and passes to the Utah State Fair (including a ride a drink).  So we took Family Night and our Ecuadorian guest and headed out to the fair.  I really like showing the little kids the animals.... that's the sad part about them getting older... but they had a blast and asked if we could come back again.  I told them to keep reading to get free passes.  We saw part of the Knights of Mayhem show too.  We usually like watching the jousting, this time it was full contact jousting and just made my tailbone and hips ache to watch.  We saw two jousts, and 3 of the 4 people were unseated and 1 was unable to keep going.

Ada and I think they put the angel wings upside down, but if they hadn't have done it, no-one would be able to reach them for pictures except the very tall.

Utah State Fair

Nell's birthday was this last week.  So much fun!  We met up at Julie's Fabric Stash and hung out with her, my mom and Sharon.  We also got to go to Malawi's pizza with them before Sharon went back home to Roy.  Evelyn through a fit while we were there... but we all survived it, even Evelyn.  Saturday, we met up at Utah State Fair.  It was a rough start, we almost forgot the tickets, my mom was sick all night so she and my dad had to stay home.  Finally got settled and played... then Sam disappeared.  Someone finally found him and took him to the lost kids tent. Oh my gosh!  Scariest moments ever!  All I could do was pray.

Look at all these cute kids!

3+1

Keeping baby happy

This was the coolest thing.  The kids LOVED this guy.  But they were so funny about it... they kept running just in front of it saying, "Watch out!  It's going to get you! It's going to bite you!"

Birthday at the Fair

For her birthday every year, my sister asks to go to the State Fair with everyone.  While Jer and Sam were on a father's and son's campout, we went up to play with everyone else.  Fun stuff!

State Fair

Something that we do with my side of the family (or at least have done for a couple of years in a row) is go to the Utah State Fair for my sister's birthday.  This year was a little different because I was a single parent for about 3 days while Jer was running the RedRock Relay in St. George/Zions.  As a result, I didn't get as many pictures of our outing, but my sister Sharon helped me out there... Evelyn had allergies to all the hay everywhere, but they all loved it.  Ada loved riding the pony... (notice, she's "flying" on it.)  Sammy loved the little farm area where you learn about the different tasks that you do on a farm.  Evelyn just loved being there.  She was kind of cheeky though.  Literally.  My mom was pushing the stroller and a guy stopped right in front of them... so Evelyn stood up and smacked him on the butt.

And look at that... I think Sammy's had a growth spurt... he's creeping up on Ada for sure.

Rhees Family

This is such a fun family.  They're sweet and playful.  It's fun to get to know them and try not to freeze in the cold rain!  It was...
