Valentine's Day

Ada was cold so she climbed into Evelyn's big coat with her.  Jer and Seth wanted to jump in too.

Jer and I had a tent date night.  We made a tent and watched Hidalgo.

These brothers crouch down to do puzzles just the same way.  It's so funny.

Evelyn was the dead body in her English class after reading Romeo and Juliet.

We had parent teacher nights at both the jr high and the high school.  All the kids are doing really well and I love hearing from their teachers.

I sure love my new painting and the sleeping buddies.

Cousin Eli got his mission call to Salt Lake!  That's pretty exciting.  Maybe he'll get to be part of the Salt Lake Temple rededication.

Evelyn's valentine's day flowers died without opening and only about a day after being bought.  Jer thinks that maybe they were frozen before being sold.

Our family Valentine's Day activity...
L - a location starting with L.  The kids said Lindon to visit grandparents.... I didn't want to tell them that they got the wrong city.... so "living room" might be the location
O - a place to eat starting with the letter O.... our favorite sushi place fit the bill
V - a drink starting with the letter V (I did a vanilla protein shake, I think everyone else did "Very Dark Hot Chocolate")
E - an activity...  we played EA games (Battlefield 1942)

I got the kids suckers that play music through bone conduction when you put your teeth on them.

Aunt Nellie got the kids Valentine's Day treats.

Seth's school Valentine's Day box.  He made a "vent" that when you open it an among us guy pops out.

Sam played his flute choir piece in the commons on Friday morning.

This week's doings

We got to go to a BYU orchestra concert where Sam's flute teacher was the first chair.  It was spectacular.

She's working so hard and it's definitely pushing her limits.

Seth's Scholar led Conference.  He's doing a great job with his education. He made a windmill the other day.

My sewing helper... she jumped every time the needle came up.  It was funny.

For Valentine's Day, Grandma Robertson gave us her annual handmade cards and my parents did a new twist on their annual Valentine's cookies.  We appreciated both!

Sam had a band field trip and forgot his wallet, so I ran over and bought him some food.  He was so sweet and let me stay to chat while he ate.

My cute husband sharing his trains with my daycare kids.  They sure like it.

Sam's teacher, Madison.

Misc from Jer's phone

From our ice skating day with Amy's family.

I finished all these squares... now to put them together.  This is a blanket I started for Ada before 2020... but 2020 threw us all for a loop.

A baby blanket that's made for my niece Lizzie's new baby... Now just to get it to her.

I have a stalker.

My cute daughters

My cute sons

Valentine's, the super bowl and Jim's birthday

We did a spur of the moment thing for Valentine's day.  We both had to work, but then we made sugar cookies and ate at Waffle Love.  It was yummy and fun.  Ada found some coupons and Jer turned 9 waffles into 17... They were running a promotion that for every two waffles you get a coupon for a free waffle later... It was unexpected and fun. So now we'll have another family date night sometime.

Seth and I made this valentine's box for his class valentine's exchange.  They didn't really do a party because they had a field trip to watch the play The Cat and the Hat at the Scera.  I asked Seth how it was and he said, "It was good." It was fun making the box with him.

We made our yearly cousin valentines.  One year we made them and I was going through a funk and didn't get them out... so we saved them to send the next year and then and I were both in a funk and we both forgot.  This year we made it though.

Grandma and Grandpa asked if we'd like to watch the superbowl with them.  We said sure.  We're not big sports watchers, but if it's with Grandpa then yes!  McKay's family was going to come too, but they all had the flu.  The kids facetimed Grandpa to talk smack during the game.

Seth, Ellie and Walter built this epic fort.  Ellie had a baby doll in there and kept telling people not to wake it up.

It was Jim's birthday.  He turned 77.  He joked that he loved turning 7 so 77 was just as good.  Jer, Ada and I made him a model rail car of Porco Rosso's wrecked plane being shipped to Italy.  Jer did most of it, and it looks amazing.  I got him a Japanese Book of Mormon.

Rhees Family

This is such a fun family.  They're sweet and playful.  It's fun to get to know them and try not to freeze in the cold rain!  It was...
