October Misc

Sam's pastry class made bread.

Sam's monkeys were excited that he came home from school.

Sam making his Halloween costume.

Seth played prelude in Sacrament meeting.  He was so nervous but did it!  He played clearly and loud!  It was awesome.

Valynn had an extra ticket to Adamm's Family musical.  It was so fun and it was great to have one on one adult time.

Seth made a suit that he could hide in and pretend to be a box in the corner.  It started as a nerf gun war and turned into a camouflage thing.

Sam and I got to be the organist and music director today.  That was so fun!

Sam's soccer team.  We missed most of his season and definitely missed the picture day.  We missed Seth's picture day and about half of the games.  It just wasn't a priority this season.

This week has been fun and busy.  I got bitten by what looked like a brown recluse about a week ago when we did an outdoor movie with my friend, Michelle.  I didn't see the spider, but the bite looks like a mild reaction to a brown recluse and Sam has been bitten by one at our house before so it would make sense to be the same thing.  It's doing better, but it's sore to touch and was very painful for a couple of days.

My friend, Beth, invited me to the makerspace at the library.  We were making faux stained glass.

We had a good rainstorm along with several 100+ degree days.  Some of the wild flowers that I planted stopped looking like weeds and actually bloomed.  That's been nice.

Sam has been helping me with daycare.... Ada took over for a couple of days so that Sam could recover from getting his wisdome teeth out, but he's back. (And Ada now has a 5th wisdom tooth that they found at the dentists this week.  Only 1-2% of the population have more than 4.  Lucky duck.)

Syl has starting sleeping on top of my bookshelf.

My daycare kids wanted to take a picture and they were all standing in a circle so I took one of their feet.  That's one that I can post legally.

We played two games of Forbidden desert/island.  Seth, Evelyn and I won within a few minutes so I think forbidden desert might be the easier game of the two.

Ada is officially an EMT!  Now that she's certified, she's on the job hunt.

Our neighbor, Blake, was in Hadestown, so Jer watched the daycare for the last hour and I took the three oldest to see it.  The story stinks and the music, dancing and acting were great.

The finished library

Saturday, we helped my parents cut down two of their fruit trees that had gotten a fungus.  It went pretty fast and the kids did great.

The Avatar Aang movie came out. We watched it with Avatar themed dinner.  Chicken skewers (Sokka and meat skewers), russian tea for Uncle Iroh, and cookie dough for the day that the avatar was not boiled in oil.  And veggies because we need veggies.

Evelyn played prelude for church last Sunday.  She was nervous, but you could see as she played that her hands became more steady and the nerves left her.  She did a great job and I'm very proud of her.

Our AC unit in the church has been out the last two weeks.  They ordered parts but they aren't in yet.  The were able to find some big fans and our neighbor had about 200 leftover folding fans from a summer wedding that they weren't sure what to do with.

Our anti person cat sure doesn't mind cuddling with Seth for cat naps.

Seth is doing a Robotics camp for a couple of weeks.  His friend, Gabe, happened to walk in on the first day and they've been having a blast.

I dropped Evelyn off with Ada as a driving buddy.... for a week at FSY.  She's at Snow college this year and having a blast. I've gotten texts from her nightly.  Sam is at UVU and I haven't heard a peep from him.  I hope he's having a great time too.  Dad took him a copy of Bang and I bet they'll take advantage of that.

We saw the new Ephraim temple while we were dropping her off.  It's so pretty.

Syl likes Jer's trains too.

I made lentils for dinner while Sam was gone.  They're so yummy!  I like having Sam around more than I like lentils though.... he's a sweetie pie.

Elise, Alexx and Ada played a cooking game where they made breakfast while one couldn't see, hear or speak.  It was funny.

temples, missionaries and bunnies

This week is full of Evelyn's dress rehearsals before the ballet this weekend.... so makeup and hairspray and in abundance. Her costumes are covered in glitter this time and Ada's not so pleased about it.... but Evelyn thinks it's funny to try to touch everyone with her glittery hands.

We've pulled out the summer activities and we're in full summer daycare mode.

Our neighbor's 6 baby bunnies got into our yard last weekend and have been caught and escaped several times.  I think it's adorable and the daycare kids loved to try to "catch" them.  We've seen 4 black/dark brown ones, a white one, and a speckled grey one.

Syl decided that it's not so bad being on the cat harness and loved walking around the yard with Sam this week.

My cute little poppies.

Last and definitely not least, Eli, got to go through the temple for the first time before his mission.  He was so adorable.  You could see the absolute light shining from him and the joy that he could feel being in the temple.  Thank you for the invite Eli!

Misc week

Seth has had 3 birthday parties this week.  It's been crazy and he had to skip one because it was on my birthday and I wanted him with me.... but Jer graciously drove him to one at the end of Ada's graduation, so he wasn't in the graduation photos, but both him and Seth were there.

After the graduation, we went to 5 star bbq.  It was delicious and there was no wait at all.

Jim and Jer have been having hobby nights.  They help each other with trains and other things.  My favorite is hearing them laughing as they work.

These two got free graduation donuts.... the rest of us still wanted donut pictures.... hehehe.

Sam has been helping me with the daycare.  He's the cutest.  Here he's holding the two one year olds while I help the potty trainers in the bathroom.

My neice, Rae, had her graduation party too!  I can't believe that these guys are that old.  We had Ada graduate and 4 of her cousins this year.

YW camp kick off.

I wasn't feeling well so I went to take a nap.  I had a guardian.

Stake Conference.

Eli's missionary talk.  He did a spectacular job.  He was very Christ centered and direct.  He'll be a spectacular missionary.

Chris, Mia and Cristina invited us to their swimming pool.  All the kids ganged up against Seth saying that he was,"Demasiado poderoso!" Too powerful! in their water fight.  It was so funny.

Seth never draws at home, but he brought this back from his art class.  I was looking at his portfolio and I'm amazed at how precise he is in dimensions, perspective, etc... Who knew that he was so good?  Not his momma.  I love this picture because it's his cat, his living room window, his couch and the mountains outside.

Sabrina Squires had her opening art exhibit at the library this week too.  I really wanted to go, but we had so much going on.... But we made it to the last 15 minutes.  We got to chat with her, appreciate some new paintings and meet another artist that was her co presenter that does all insects.

Rhees Family

This is such a fun family.  They're sweet and playful.  It's fun to get to know them and try not to freeze in the cold rain!  It was...
