Town Hall was pretty cool. The whole square right in front of it was so pretty.
Rothenburg is famous for being a fairly well preserved Medieval town. The castle was destroyed in an earthquake in 1300, but the wall and defenses from the 900s are still there. There were some that had some damage from WWII. The town within the walls is all old. The main draw for this town is the Christmas festival that it holds yearly. It also houses a Medieval Law and Punishment museum.
This overlook looks out over the grounds that belong to the no longer existent castle.
Jer in front of the main square.
Kathe Wohlfahrt (Christmas Museum/Store)
On the hour, this clock strikes and the windows open showing the life sized puppets inside sitting at their desks.
This fountain looks a lot like the ones in Bern. I wonder if it was done by the same man. I love the George and the Dragon theme.
Time for Schnitzel with potatoes.
The Church of St James. We didn't go inside this one, but it had several really neat statues outside. My favorite is the Gethsemane scene that they had enclosed in that grate right between Jer and Janelle here.
We found a stash guy for Seth.
