home church

Making a hot air balloon

Earning money for her trip

The kids adore Ada.
Biking with cousins.
Make your own pizza special..... I thought tgis was cute. Sam was nonplussed
School field Day was the last week we had daycare kids. Everyone lasted for a couple games, but they were mostly for older kids.

Math time

Ada was trying to force herself to do math.... Evelyn decided to help.

Home church

Both boys had outgrown their Sunday clothes and were wearing school clothes to our home church. I finally chose to order some off the internet. They were huge! But at least the matched.

Doc Oc

I made an octopus during conference. The kids think it's a hoot.

Ada at the dentist

catch up

So a couple things in the last couple weeks....

Ada was making her first torte.  She made it, and none of us remembered to pull it out of the oven, so it sat in there 3 times as long as it was supposed to.  It was pretty funny and we had to remake it.

Ada and I went to the dentist's office. They have new regulations around COVID-19 so we could only go 2 at a time instead of all 6 of us.  And Ada had to wear a rubber thing to keep water particles from going down her throat.  It was pretty funny.

We had hotdogs for dinner the other night.  We finished and cleaned up... then Seth asked for another one.  I told him he'd have to cook it.  He put it in the pan and kept coming back to stir it every couple minutes.  It was adorable.

I haven't had daycare for a while and won't for a few more weeks.  While I haven't had anyone, I decided to do all the extra training that is required for the year (20 hours).  So far I've done a 10 hour training course, a 2 hour training course, a 1 hour training course and I'm signed up for a 4 hour one next Saturday.  I should be done after that.  Then I just need a surprise inspection from my licensor.  Then I'm good to go for the next year.  I'm really grateful for a job that I can do from home and with my kids around.... It is a lot of work though.  I have kids for 11 hours a day, lots of cleaning after they go home, and required training and licensing hours on the side.  I don't know if kids will be going back to school in the fall, but it will be nice if they do, then the daycare will be easier than trying to homeschool too.

Ada, Sam and Jer have all been preparing for a overnight backpacking trip.  They have been walking on the treadmill on an incline while wearing backpacks and going on jogs by themselves and once with Grandpa Robertson after mowing the lawn.  Sam helped Grandpa plant the corn, Ada cleaned out the play house for the summer, Evelyn and Seth "helped" Ada.... cute kiddos.

Memorial Day

Since my birthday is on Memorial Day, we chose do celebrate Memorial Day on Sunday this last week.  We told stories about my grandparents and Jer's grandparents.  We visited my Wilcox grandparents, the great-grandparents and the great aunts and uncles that were nearby.  Ada cut flowers from our bush for them.  We didn't visit my Mom's parents because they were 30 minutes in the other direction and we didn't have time.

Then we went to visit their Ggma and Ggpa.  This time, I had the kids tell me the things that they remembered about these grandparents.  We were talking to Jer's parents on the phone in the car on the way down.  It turned out that they were also on their way down, so we stayed and talked with them for a minute before heading home.

Seth was Ggpa's car buddy.

Jer and had both forgotten about the "Dang-Dumb" kids!

Even with masks, we practiced social distancing.  It will be nice to be done with that.

I was taking this picture and had to tease Jim and Judy.  I told them to smile.  Judy laughed and Jim smiled without realizing that he had his mask on.  I got a good kick out of that.

Sam takes things very seriously.  He needed a minute to be sad about grandparents and then was able to move on to the fun stories.

Evelyn took some pictures with my camera.  Cute girl.

Social distancing pros.

Ada begged the kids to do this with her.  Sam wasn't so happy about it, but he did it in the end.

Then we stopped by the Harmer, Tew and Robertson relatives that were on our walk back to the car.

My brave child that wanted to wear a mask.

The "original" Robertson brother that the kids are descended from.

Ada

I wanted to take a picture of Ada with our flowers before they disappear, and the dog was so thrilled that she wouldn't stay out of the pictures.  It was so funny.

Ada is a nut too..... I said that I wanted her and the flowers.  She jumped in the bush and gathered all the flowers around her. My cute nut.

Looking for the comet

McKay and Sophie's family is here for a while.  Their state is still in complete lockdown.  They came out here because McKay can work from home and the kids can actually leave the house here.  We've seen them a couple of times, and the kids have all been really good and social distance play.... so that's good.  My brother, Seth, invited us to go try to find the comet with the green tail the other night.  That's always fun.  My Mom provided glow sticks and I had everyone stand apart and swing them.  It looked really fun.

Seth's kindergarten graduation

So, Seth is officially a 1st grader and he's so proud of himself.  He feels so grown up.  He told me that now he's grown up and asks if it's his birthday every other day.  He has made so much great progress this year.  He's still really bouncy, but he's a good reader and LOVES math.  It is a little surreal that he's my last kindergartener.  We're all in full day school now.

Seth's teachers hosted a drive through graduation.  They sanitized their hands after each car.  They've been so great this year.

I wanted a picture of all my "graduates", so when we got home I made them take a picture on the porch.  They were almost all barefoot and that cracked me up.  I love my growing family.

Rhees Family

This is such a fun family.  They're sweet and playful.  It's fun to get to know them and try not to freeze in the cold rain!  It was...
