Pictures from my phone

This is what I remember from growing up with my Dad.  The daily pile on Dad on his bed parties.  He was such a tolerant Dad... we used to comb his hair with weird things and dog pile him all the time.

And ignore my mess... I pulled out my project box to try to finish some projects and they all got stacked in the corner of my bedroom... one by one I'll get them done or throw them out.  What I love is Seth absolutely reclining to watch our movie about the pioneers.  Complete relaxation.

Love this woman.  She was out gardening and came in for a minute.  She ended up holding this baby that wouldn't look away from her for a moment.

This is Sam "cleaning" his room.  To be fair, that is all bedding... problem is?  Half of it's Evelyn's bedding and stuffed animals.  Do you think he could fit in the bed?

Cute brothers cuddled up and one got knocked out.

Free Slurpee day from 7-Eleven

Seth was the happiest kid the day I bought this toy for him.  He carts around his trains and sometimes even sleeps with them.  I thought this assortment was especially awesome.  Trains, lego man, My Little Pony, duplo lego, plastic carrots... awesome.

Tball and coach pitch

This girl has been loving tball.  I'll try to download the video that my sister took of Evelyn and two friends giving each other high fives.  She keeps track of how many time she gets the ball during the games, and even has fought some of the teammates for it.  She kept leaving when she was on second base so that she could be the one to get the ball.  The coach finally took her by the shoulders, marched her over to the base and put her there.  It was pretty funny.

Sam is a great hitter.  He LOVES to hit and takes me to practice catching at the park.  Most of his hits would be doubles if they played that way.  It's not until machine pitch that they start playing by real baseball rules.

Saturday

Saturday brought the return of baseball to our house.  We asked Ada to let Evelyn have a turn playing this time... and Evelyn couldn't be more excited.  She says that now that she's 5, she gets to do things like Karate.  Saturday morning, Jer ran the Utah Valley Marathon.  Let me say, I have an amazingly goal oriented and determined husband.  Even though I kept him from running full marathons while we had our very clingy 4th baby, he trained consistently and put in all the work to be able to do it again.  Unfortunately, he was supposed to be coming in about the same time as our kids were supposed to be at coach pitch and Tball games... so we cheered from afar.  I told all the kids when I got the race text saying he'd come in.... Ada said, "I thought it was 29 miles!"  Sam likes baseball.  And he'd rather play well than look good.  We couldn't find his mit, but instead of using Dad's which is too big and bulky, he chose to use Ada's.  He said, "I don't care if they make fun of me, just if I don't catch the ball."  We got there when it was pouring and got pretty wet, but the kids didn't mind.  They had fun being in the rain.  I was trying desperately to finish Sam's quilt that I was making for his birthday... so Ada took pictures for Sam's game and Sam took pictures at Evelyn's.

I loved looking at the pictures after to see what the kids had taken.  Among them were about 30 of Evelyn with this kid in front of her.... and he was standing in a different pose on one foot in every one of them.

I finally finished and gave him his birthday quilt.  Sam has read the first two Harry Potter books and was Harry Potter for Halloween last year.  I've never made my own patterns before, but the one and only pattern online that I could follow had things like the Dark Mark on it.... I didn't think that was appropriate for my soon to be 7 year old... so I made my own.  It was hard the first couple blocks, but once I got the idea of it... I enjoyed making my own patterns.  I gave it to him this morning and he LOVED it.  He rolled up in it and kept giving me hugs.

Ada Coach Pitch

Ada's been having fun doing baseball again this year.  Jer's only been able to make it to one game, but we're glad he was able to come this last Saturday because their last game is next week and Jer's got another camp out. Ada's gotten consistent with her hitting.  When she first started, she'd miss every time.  Now she can hit it at least within the first couple pitches.

Rhees Family

This is such a fun family.  They're sweet and playful.  It's fun to get to know them and try not to freeze in the cold rain!  It was...
