New York day #6

The next day, we drove down to Maryland and stayed with James' family.  It was so fun.  There's always such a feeling of peace. Their AC has been out for the summer and it's been a hot summer.  We went to church with them, played games, talked about current events, played ghost in the graveyard. We were only going to stay on Sunday and then go to Monticello, but the kids all asked to stay an extra day.  I'm afraid that we might have messed up their Monday schedule.... sorry cousins. We stayed until lunch time and then headed out. Ada went to a fireside with Weasley and they all decided to play a game Monday morning.  They invited Jer, James, Sam, and Graham to play.  It was basically capture the flag but with foam weapons.  They had a blast.

Delicious curry

Weasley made this beautiful chess set, so of course it had to be used.

Memories

I love memories.  Probably because it reminds me to be happy now too. My cousin sent this to me . How fun.  I always loved having pen pals.  I wrote to my cousin, Tiffany, and to my second cousin, Rosanne for years.  I had a pen pal named Tyler in elementary school and in High School I had one named Katy that I'm still friends with today.

My brother, McKay, just moved back to Utah.  In the move, he found a bunch of old photos and this one was awesome.

The Komens invited us over to eat leftover cotton candy after their daughter's birthday party the other day.  That was fun.

Put them to work young!

Brothers

I can't tell you how grateful I am that these two have each other. I knew that Sam needed a brother and I'm glad the Heavenly Father sent him one.

Salzburg fortress

The Salzburg fortress is currently more of a history of the area more than anything.  I didn't know that it was a very wealthy region.  All because there were salt mines and they used the money to enrich their city economy.

This was neat.  While they were doing some renovations on the fortress about 20 years ago, they accidentally uncovered the outer wall from the 1500s.

They also excavated some of the old buildings.

We walked by Mozart's birth place too.  We'd all been running our heads off for too long without a break though.  We were all done and in need of a break, so we all went to the AirBnB and Jer wandered for another couple hours.  My plantar was flaring up again, so it was nice to take a small break.

Brothers

In so glad these two have each other. There's nothing like a brother! Seth has slept in a toddler bed 3 nights now and while he has to have the door closed so he won't get out of bed, he loves that when he wakes up in the morning he has a greater freedom. The very first morning I found him looking behind his curtain and saying ,"Jump, jump!" while he watched the kids jumping on the trampoline in the back yard.

Rhees Family

This is such a fun family.  They're sweet and playful.  It's fun to get to know them and try not to freeze in the cold rain!  It was...
