Lucerne, Switzerland

Unfortunately, we ran out of time for one of our planned visits.  We were going to go to Neuschwanstein Castle but ran out of time and couldn't get tickets for it.  Luckily there was a lot to do in Lucerne.

Kapellbrücke, the chapel bridge is the oldest covered bridge in Europe.  It was built in 1333 and part of it was replaced in 1993 when someone threw a cigarette onto it and it caught fire.  The saddest part about that is that there are paintings all the way across the bridge.  While the bridge itself can be repaired, some of the paintings are burnt and gone.

We got there right as the sun started setting.  PERFECT lighting.... it was amazing.
