catch up

I love this sight.

Ada got round two of braces on the day after her birthday.  She's not as excited this time but she was a pro at holding still this time.

Our last soccer game of the season was pretty cold.  Good thing this girl came prepared.

This face is amazing.

I missed uploading this last time.  Ana brought her mission pictures.  I absolutely was thrilled to see this one.  It definitely shows that missionary work is the Lord's work.  It shows that the missionaries are tools and friends but nothing more.  It shows that things happen in the Lord's time.  Do you see that extremely happy woman in the middle?  When I was in this area, my companion and I were teaching her mom, and to an extent her.  We would go and talk with her mom, her daughter would come home and hide in her room, but she wouldn't close her door.  She never once came out to sit with us, but she never closed her door.  We taught her mom, Gladys Velos, for months.  We always felt the spirit, but we were afraid that we'd have to drop her and move on because she wasn't progressing.  We decided we'd teach her one last time and then move on.  We didn't even know what to teach her.  We decided to show her a video about the Restoration of the Priesthood.  We finished the video and she agreed to be baptized.  She hadn't had the confirmation before about the Priesthood.  She had been confused why God would let imperfect men act in his name.  She was baptized, her daughter attended the baptism and I was moved out of the area.  A couple of companionships later, she's that happy and smiling woman that radiates out of this picture.  I hear that both of them have been amazing contributors to their Ward youth groups.  And it doesn't matter who baptized whom.  It just matters that they're there together and they're growing in the gospel.

Ada has grown a lot lately.  She's almost as tall as I am, so we've started shopping for her in the teen and older sections.  She matched her Primary teacher the other day.

I love serving people.  Sometimes it takes me away from Jer late at night though.... sometimes I don't want to be away from him any longer than we already have been.  I got a call to help someone get to Walmart and back at 9:30 at night.  We asked Ada if she could be the responsible party for those that were sleeping at home and Jer and I went on a date to Walmart.  We didn't need to buy anything so we were browsing and chatting.  Sometimes a mini date is all you need.

We went on a road trip for fall break... and we get back to half our tree on the ground.  Luckily nothing was hurt besides the tree, but it's another large thing to cut up and haul off.

Warm fall days.

My amazing Mom watched this cute thing while I accompanied Sam's school field trip.  Unfortunately, he woke up a little lethargic and with lots of poop.  I dropped him off, he didn't want to have lunch, pooped everywhere, and right before I got back to pick him up decided he wanted to eat chips and fell asleep.  Luckily my Mom had some extra clothes he could borrow.

Rhees Family

This is such a fun family.  They're sweet and playful.  It's fun to get to know them and try not to freeze in the cold rain!  It was...
