Our second stop was Twin Falls. We'd heard all sorts of really fun things about swimming in the pools at the falls. We got there and there was so much rushing water from the weeks of rain before hand that it was dangerous to swim in it. Instead we just enjoyed hiking around the area. Ada took tons of pictures. Sam didn't listen to instructions and got lost for about 5-10 minutes. We all found each other, but it wasn't without lots of anxiety on Sam's part. He is a super anxiety ridden kid. I do want to teach him that he will be okay and that anxious feelings shouldn't keep us from acting and moving forward. The rocks at the falls looked 100% painted for a movie set and the plants were so neat.
These top three pictures are all Ada.
These pictures were all mine. This bottom one shows just how fast the water was running and how muddy it was from the flash flooding the week before.
These were all Ada's photos again. She really is getting good.
I LOVED and was a little nervous about the sound of the bamboo groves in the wind. I've seen bamboo from a distance but never been in them before. You'd be walking along and hear these really loud cracks above your head. The wind would knock them together and they would echo really loudly. It made me a little nervous that something was breaking, but I kept an eye on it the first couple of times and it was just the wind. After that, it was just a really cool novelty.
