First thing in the morning, we went to Fushimi Inari Taisha. It was rainy off and on so we took some umbrellas. The gates were spectacular. It was one of the things that I wanted to do the most. It is a bit of a hike so I did the main part at the bottom and then explored some shrines while everyone else hiked to the highest shrine at the top. Seth counted 1000 gates and was disappointed that there were more. There were a lot of people, but we were still able to get some fun pictures and didn't get too wet with rain. For the second half of the day we took a bus over to Sanjusangendo Temple. It is a buddha with a thousand buddhas around it. It was a neat experience but they don't allow pictures so we just have some from the outside of the building. To end the day, we went to a Koto performance/lesson. We had booked through a website and apparently only half our booking went through and they could only fit 3 of us in instead of 7 for the lesson part. Evelyn was pretty tired so Jer took her home and the rest of us stayed. It was fun for everyone.

Evelyn's mini cone. Ada got an ice cream and snapped off the bottom to make Evelyn a little cone. It was funny.
This is where I chose to explore while they were hiking.
