Japan 11

Our last day in Kyoto, we visted the Kyoto Geon National Garden.  This is where the retired emperorors usually live out their retirement years.  They don't have anyone currently living there so they allow visitors.  Grandpa remembers it from 60 years ago and really wanted to show us the gardens.  Only people over 18 could enter that part so Sam volunteered to walk around the park with Evelyn and Seth so the 4 of us could go in.  It was spectacular.  Then we picked up our bags and headed to the next stop.

This was hands down the most spectacular meal that I ate the entire trip.  I only had room for about 4 of the pork strips but it's one of the times that I miss having a larger stomach.  It was so good.  Seth ate my miso soup, Sam ate my rice and the kids divided up the rest of the pork.

The park felt a lot like Central Park in New York.

These were so cute and tiny.  They are by far the smallest helicopter seeds I've ever seen.
