I think that the geyser basin was so interesting. We saw 6 or 7 geysers go off. We waited for old faithful and then took a 6 mile loop around the rest the basin. There were some that we didn't see because it was up another 2 or 3 miles and I was having a hard time walking normally. Grand geyser was supposed to be going off soon, so we finished our loop and Jer and Sam went to go wait for it to go off. They waited in the rain but said that it was so neat. I took the others to the gift shop to look around and use the bathroom. Then we waited in the van for the 1/2 hour that it took for the boys to finish up. We found out while we were out that Seth had lost his tooth in the river the day before. It was so funny. He looks at me and says, "I lost my tooth!" I asked to see it and he said, "It's in the river." On our rainy drive back to our camp, a bear crossed the road right in front of us. That was neat. Evelyn was insisting that the Giant geyser was going to erupt while we were there and we had to wait for it. It hasn't erupted for over a year and a half. I told her we'd look it up on youtube when we got home. It's pretty amazing, but that made me want to see the geothermal basin in Iceland. Next trip to Iceland? Airline tickets during COVID are dirt cheap.... too bad we don't have the time or money.
