Wilcox hot dog roast

This last week, McKay and his family came into town for Kyanna's wedding (Yay!).  We went to the temple and did baptisms for the names that my mom and dad have been working on lately.  It was fun to have all 4 of our 12 year olds, Sophie, Jer, me, my Mom and Dad.  It was lovely.  I got in the font for the first time since I got my endowments.  I don't remember the water being that warm, but I do remember what it felt like to have my Dad helping me in the water and my Grandpa Ellis' hands shaking on my head while he did the confirmations.  This time, Jer baptized me and both my Dad and Jer did the confirmations.

After the temple, we went to have a hot dog party in my parents back yard. My Mom just got a couple of bow and arrow nerf sets and the kids are in love.  Janelle had some blow up costumes and the kids took turns putting them on and letting the others shoot them with the bow and arrows.

Lucky Sam had to go get a scope done of his throat.  He was not nervous about the hospital, but nervous about the IV.  Seth and I took him over to the Outpatient facility and waited while they took him back.  He was only gone for a few minutes before the doctor was back.  He said that Sam's throat was too small for the scope and for the tools that they use to dilate throats.  He said that he's not sure how Sam manages to get food down his throat.  They were able to get one biopsy out of the three they were going to do, so they will have a little information for us.  It's just gotten to the point where there's no way that we can avoid all of his allergens (he has at least 75 known allergens), and the allergy meds that he takes only slightly works.  They want to dilate his throat at least and put him on a medication for a month that should relax his throat enough to get the tools down it.  Then we're planning on getting allergy drops that he will take daily that are supposed to help get rid of his allergies, but it will take daily drops for 3 years and will cost quite a bit.  Hopefully they help.  (They cost anywhere from $100-$300/month depending on how he reacts to them.)  He's been fairly patient, but he's learning how to be more so....

Ada was nominated for the Knoble Knight award for helping kids on the playground.  Her teacher wrote us a sweet email about how Ada saw a younger girl getting excluded on the playground.  She didn't make a big deal of it, she just walked over to her and they went off to play.  I know this isn't the first time either because Ada tells me about some of the kids that she meets on the playground.  Her favorite is a Kindergartener that helps them find buried treasure in the wood chips.

At the end of the day, my Mom had us take family pictures.... this one is a cell phone snap, but I'll post the final pictures when we get them from the photographer.  The photographer is Seth's Kindergarten teacher and Ada's best friends' mom.  She was very cute and patient with all of us.

Today, my friend Robyn drove in on her way to spend Thanksgiving with her parents in Vernal.  We went up and had our hair cut by our friend, Mesh.  She's the only one that I've ever let have a little free reign with my hair.  Usually I only get a trim, but both times that I've gotten shorter, it's been her.  I'm going to have to take Ada back to her and see if she can teach us some hairstyles that Ada can do on her own.
