We were without internet for a while this week, so I'm just finally catching up on this. This year, we were able to see these guys doing some bouts. This is a real sport too. Jer and I liked watching it more than the kids did though. They wanted to go and play on the pirate ship playground.
They had bareback riders too. They had the entire class do a demonstration. It looked like they had a few teenagers, but they also had a few 5 year olds.
They did the may pole while we were there as well.
And our favorite from last year, the jousters. This lady is from Germany. She was demonstrating sword fighting from horseback by cutting a catelope off this guys head.
The actual jousts are so much fun to watch. The one man is from Saratoga Springs and really played up that he was on his "home turf". (After the show we passed by where he was chatting with some people and he has a really foul mouth. Makes me sad.)

That looks so awesome! I have always resisted going to renaisance fairs. I might try them now. I would love to see people joust
