Solar Eclipse

For the solar eclipse, we were going to drive down to goblin valley to watch it... but Sharon was coming down for the weekend for mom and dad's anniversary, so we decided to stick around.  We went to the Wilkerson farm with them and took all the stuff to watch the eclipse on the way. I love getting together with my family.  I'm lucky that we are able to see them once every couple of months.  We saw McKay's family not long ago and Seth invited us to come paint with him at the game store a little while ago. Hopefully we get to see everyone in November.

My favorite part about solar eclipses are that the light gets so very intense and yellow right before it happens.

Jer got a solar filter for our telescope, we got it to work on our camera and it was fun to watch the progress with it.  It got a little closer than this, but with the pictures it captured more light than with the naked eye.

I haven't ridden a Ferris wheel in years.  I think the last one was when Sammy was a few years old and it freaked me out that I had a wiggly kid that could just jump out... now the kids are all old enough to have some self control. It was fun.

These boys rode a couple of very fast twirly rides in a row and felt sick for a little while after.  They ended up needing to take a break.

See that really pretty yellow light?  It was a little bit more intense in person.

Ready for the future!

16 years old

My Ada is 16.  How and when did that happen?  I love this girl.  She's my daughter and friend.  She's always excited to be part of things.  She's an adventurer.  She doesn't shy away from hard things.  She doesn't enjoy hard things, but she doesn't run from them.  Here's what's going on with her this year.... She's taking a college drawing class through UVU, she's taking and mastering both that class and her AP European History class.  She's catching up from last year's lazy teacher and working hard in her Math 3E class. She's loving being part of the FBLA club and school store. She hiked Angels Landing and part of the Narrows in Zion's canyon this last weekend. She's still playing the piano and is the Class President of her YW's class.  She's practicing and getting ready to get her driver's license in the beginning of the next year. She loves her siblings and teases them all the time.  She loves her cats and she has recently loved learning how to crochet. I love being with her while she builds her life.  May you seek the direction of the Holy Ghost as you work towards your celestial home my love!

Last soccer game

So Seth technically has one more soccer game of the season, but we are going to have to miss it.... so this was Seth's last game until spring.  He was super cute and played hard even though he was tired going into the game.

Seth and Jack.

My kids are cuddlers

My kids are very cute cuddlers.  I love it.
Sam and Evelyn at Logan's birthday party.

Seth listening to Audible and playing with the babies.

Sam is very good with the cats that don't like to be picked up.

"Seth where did you go?"

Sam doing homework.  I think he was reading and she climbed up on him.

Seth's favorite cat is Syl.  She likes cuddling with him but doesn't like being caught first.  Once he picks her up, she settles right in with him.

Evelyn was talking to me and this baby wanted some cuddles.

Seth was keeping one of the babies safe.  Two of them have been climbing alot and the third one wanted to be up on the couch too.  Seth put her up and then read them books to make sure the third one wasn't going to fall.

new windowsills

"Hi my name is Bob."  We took out all the old windowsills and we're putting in the new ones little bit at a time... we only have 4 left.  Evelyn thought this piece of old windowsill looked like a man.

Seth LOVED doing this.

The Komen's were cleaning out their little kid toys.  They donated their duplos to the daycare.... Seth is as big of a fan as the daycare is.

Happy Anniversary

On Friday October 13th, my parents celebrated their 45th anniversary.  It's a fun milestone for them and our family.  I only got a picture of my Dad during a dinner with them that night, but I love and appreciate my parents for all that they did/do for me and all that they have taught and still teach me.  I'm so grateful to live close and to never feel like a burden when I ask for help. My parents are hard working, God loving, service oriented people and I'm happy to claim them.

Ada, Nellie and I played headbandz with Thea.

My parent's engagement photo.

I think this was at a birthday party in the summer of 2009.

At Jer's and my wedding in 2005.

I'm not sure when this was, but probably about 5-7 years ago.

1981.... looks like my Ellis grandparent's home. (I'm the cute little baby there.)

Parents engagement picture. If I remember right, my mom's ring was her Grandmother's ring.

This was just a couple years ago at Bear Lake.

I think this was about 8 or so years ago.

Rhees Family

This is such a fun family.  They're sweet and playful.  It's fun to get to know them and try not to freeze in the cold rain!  It was...
