Florida Day 8

Friday we got to go to the Kennedy Space Center.  Jer and I both were super excited to be there.  We loved seeing rockets and space shuttles in person.  The kids started off a little curious, but they all got fairly enthusiastic by the time we were done.  The kids got to touch a moon rock and try freeze-dried ice cream like astronauts. Jer thought it was pretty funny that they how a "how to use the bathroom in space" exhibit.

One man space shuttle designed to go into orbit and back.

They thought it was awesome that they were upside down.

We packed a bag of drinks and food but completely forgot them on the counter... Whoops! We went ahead and bought lunch, but drinks were a little crazy.

We got to see the Atlantis Shuttle here. That was so cool!

Learning about re-entry.

We also took a bus tour around the launch pads and to see the other shuttle that they have on display.

This is the crawler... it transports the shuttles to the launch pads.

The open bay door is the height to be able to pull a Statue of Liberty through upright.

Florida Day 7

We loved the beach so much that we asked if we could go again.  It was a different spot on Cocoa beach, and it was fun to see the fishermen and the different bikers going past.

Baby was one happy, hungry and sandy baby.

Florida Day 5

Because we decided against going to Disneyworld but still wanted to see a little bit, Emily took us to Disney Downtown. That was fun to see the huge Lego sculptures, race cars at the Lego store, eat amazing ice cream at Ghirardelli, and take a stroll through the biggest Disney store I've ever seen.  Evelyn wanted ALL the princess stuff.  Ada wanted all the key chains and Sam just wanted to stop walking.

This little guy has started to try standing all by himself.  He only manages a couple seconds, but he really wants it.

Florida Day 6

Wed, Ben and Emily took us to a natural springs in the area. That was so fun too! I didn't want to get my camera stolen by leaving it out unattended, so I really only have a couple of pictures. The water was clear all the way to the white sands. We got to see a long necked white bird swallow up a big fish. There was a sandy area for littles to dig in. James, Harrison and Ben all went scuba diving.  Jer got baby to nap and we were driven off by a storm... but we did get quite a few hours there first.

These girls loved having sleep overs. Evelyn and Sophie would sit there and chat for hours.  Sophie tried to adjust to sleeping on the same bed with someone and Evelyn had to figure out how to actually go to sleep when others are trying to.

Baby learned how to climb the stairs this week. Just needed some motivation.

Rhees Family

This is such a fun family.  They're sweet and playful.  It's fun to get to know them and try not to freeze in the cold rain!  It was...
