Friday we got to go to the Kennedy Space Center. Jer and I both were super excited to be there. We loved seeing rockets and space shuttles in person. The kids started off a little curious, but they all got fairly enthusiastic by the time we were done. The kids got to touch a moon rock and try freeze-dried ice cream like astronauts. Jer thought it was pretty funny that they how a "how to use the bathroom in space" exhibit.
One man space shuttle designed to go into orbit and back.
They thought it was awesome that they were upside down.
We packed a bag of drinks and food but completely forgot them on the counter... Whoops! We went ahead and bought lunch, but drinks were a little crazy.
We got to see the Atlantis Shuttle here. That was so cool!
Learning about re-entry.
We also took a bus tour around the launch pads and to see the other shuttle that they have on display.
This is the crawler... it transports the shuttles to the launch pads.
The open bay door is the height to be able to pull a Statue of Liberty through upright.
