We try to involve the kids when we are doing construction projects. I feel like it's a good education for them. Sometimes they cause the construction project. Right after I are pipe burst and we tore out the ceiling the kids were racing to get a knock at the door and broke the door knob off. Jeremy had already used several of the outside door knobs to replace the front door. This was our last good doorknob for the outside. We ended up using my parents gift to us for Christmas to buy all new outside door knobs for our house. We got one for the front door and then try to keep cost down we ran to Home Depot to pick out matching ones.
