PCOS+nursing+jaundice

Nice combo right?  Finally on the third baby, I've been able to eat close enough to a PCOS/insulin resistance diet to produce some milk... not enough still, but closer than on the other two... and Evelyn was born nursing well!  She knew how to latch on and nursed well until her jaundice got bad enough that she didn't want to eat anymore... the doctor said that we had to supplement if she was going to get better quickly... so we did... mostly with what I'd pumped, but some formula too because the more they eat the faster their body can heal... result?

A baby who has decided that bottle feeding is easier and won't even nurse now.  I'm kind of bummed really... I thought that I finally had a good chance at nursing, and she won't do it.  Well, we already have the bottles and pumps, etc... required for bottle feeding.  Just kind of bummed that she was a natural and now she refuses just in the space of a few days.  Oh well... that's life.

Oh I'm so sorry, that can be really disappointing :o( At least she is a cute baby!

You know, Ellen did that to me as well. I went back to work two weeks after having her so I supplemented her from the beginning and she did the same thing...decided that it was easier with the bottle. I spent a very hard weekend listening to my baby cry and forcing her to do nothing but nurse and after two days she decided that she would do that and was a great dual feeder from then on out.

Rhees Family

This is such a fun family.  They're sweet and playful.  It's fun to get to know them and try not to freeze in the cold rain!  It was...
