Cousins

I had daycare for two weeks in a row so that I could be at Young Women's camp this week with the girls. Janine was nice and took last friday for me so that I could get Evelyn ready for and go to her ballet. This year, they performed Odessa Clash of the Titans. She was a flower in Demeter's garden and one of Hades Nix. Ada did Evelyn's makeup and did a marvelous job. I did Evelyn's hair.

Two of the daycare kids tore apart a squishy dinosaur. There were three adults in the room and none of us noticed. Gah.

I got Evelyn sushi in between the matinee and evening performance. Usually we grab something at the grocery store for her to take, but this time we had a fun time at Dame.

Her acro costume kept catching the light and shining everywhere.

We were buy tickets online for the ballet and Judy said that she wanted 4. Turns out that some of the Tarkington's were going to come and Evelyn was thrilled. Maisy and Cyrus have both done ballet and Evelyn was thrilled to share this together. Jer went and played a game with Jonathan and Joseph while I was at Evelyn's second performance.

Sam's 14! He's a good kid. He's learning to be patient with biweekly allergy shots and making grown up decisions. He's friendly and smart. He works hard for things that he wants. If he has a goal, he sets himself up for the long haul. His occasional bursts of anger are easily put in check by himself. He's the first to voluntarily do something and is not only a good son but a good minister. He really is a bright spot in my life.

His birthday was on a daycare day. Jer paused for lunch to make a gluten free cake with Beth, Rose, Jack, Evelyn and Seth. Then we had pepper steak for dinner.

FSY

Janine covered daycare on Monday so that I could drive Ada to Snow College for FSY. I'm so excited. I loved EFY and Ada loved it last time. I'm glad she gets to go again.... maybe even one more time before she leaves YW's. We checked her in and got her to her apartment. There was this gigantic table that looked like it was built for and 8 foot person.

She had a marvelous time and I'm excited for Sam's turn.

New Lindon temple

I am so excited. We are going to be part of the new Lindon temple district. Our Ward got to bike/drive/walk to the temple site to see it and help us be part of the process. Jer, Ada and Sam biked to the temple and I drove the younger two because Evelyn had dance right after. It was so neat and I hope the kids will remember and have the temple part of their lives.

tidbits

We were purging children's clothes and rooms. Ada says that she's going to fix this. She normally will be the first kid to let something go.... but this one has an emotional spot in her heart. It was my mom's work shirt for 20 years.... Ada used it as a prop for a play and then kept it. It was funny.

Dad cut down a dead tree and we stayed up to burn branches.

Dinner with family

We had dinner with Grandma, Grandpa, Nella, Inez and Tom and Seth. It was fun. We did pour paints with my Mom and Janelle, and set ladybugs free with Nels.

Sunday power outage

The power was out at the church last week. They opened curtains and someone brought their DJ equipment, and we were able to have a microphone. It was a fun adventure, but the kids were definitely more snuggly. I was released from the last 6 years of Young Women's. I'm sad, but I will have fun as the Primary Singing Leader.

Bear Lake Work weekend

We went up last weekend to help get the cabin ready for the summer. The cabin is really getting old. Everything is breaking down, but I still love it. They're going to be rebuilding bathrooms this July and then we'll see what happens from there.
