Seth Bear Lake Birthday

While we were at the Lake, my baby turned 6 years old.  He lost two more teeth at Bear Lake too.... for a total of 3 teeth in 8 days. Seth is a good reader, loves to wrestle, loves people... especially Mom, and is a good helper.  We went to shakes in Garden City, made a dutch oven soda cake, and did a treasure hunt with Joe and Jen's kids.  When it was done, Seth said, "This was the best birthday ever!"  I wrote out the map, but Jer was so cute and got up a little early to place clues and bury the treasure.

Grandma wanted to try smores with reeses peanut butter cups and fudge stripe cookies.  I think Ada's a fan.

Sam, Ada, Evelyn, Abigail, Clara
Alaina, Seth, Vivien  (not in the picture: Benji, Olivia, and Thea)

Seth found a clue to the treasure hunt.

Ada and Clara were super cute.  They wanted to have the babies included so they each grabbed one and chased after the crowd with babies in their arms.

Jer hid a clue on the raft.  They all raced for the boats.  Ada gave Seth a ride and let him bring the clue back to the shore for everyone.

These babies spent hours following each other around, sharing shells and rocks.  They were so cute.

Bear Lake

This place is my peaceful place, as it is for so many of my aunts, uncles and cousins.  I was disappointed that we might not make it this year.  We had to miss our last week because we were quarantined.  This time we were there all alone for a day, then my parents and Janelle joined us.  Then Wed, Sharon and her kids joined us.  There was a micro burst on Wed and I was impressed with how everyone dealt with it.  There was absolutely no warning.  My Dad had been pulling Vivien and Thea in a little blow up raft.  He had just grabbed there hands and the wind hit, it grabbed the boat and blew it away.  Jer tried to catch it, but it was long gone.  My Mom and Sharon got the little kids into the cabin, Sam pulled stuff off the beach, Ada made sure our tent and trailer were secured, I grabbed all the food and garbage cans that had fallen off tables and were blowing around, and my favorite.... Sharon's tent was coming un-staked so my dad went in to zip up the windows and secure the tent.... and the tent including the port a crib and mattress collapsed on him.  Then he was trying to yell help while all of us were running around.  Sharon heard him and helped him get out of the tent and secure it.  My mom asked if Jer's impromtu run was intense (the wind was so strong that it felt like you were being pelted by rocks), and I said, "No Dad was In-tents."  Yep, my one Dad joke for the year.

I did a lot more swimming than I usually do, but all my little kids are older now and the swimming felt good on my hips.  I took kids on my kayak a lot.  That was fun.

These two pictures were just minutes before the microburst.

Sharon and Brad's house

Sharon and Brad already had COVID-19 in January after their family trip to Disneyland, so they were fine with us staying with them, doing laundry, showering and chilling for a day.  I love spending time with my siblings, so even better.

Logan canyon

After leaving Yellowstone, we stayed for a couple nights with Sharon and Brad in Logan on the way to camp at Bear Lake for a week.  It was fun to spend time with them.  I love them so much.  They are currently in a town house until they can get their house built on the lot they bought in Providence.  Sharon took us on a Sunday walk up the Logan river.  The kids loved all the adventurous places to explore.

Rhees Family

This is such a fun family.  They're sweet and playful.  It's fun to get to know them and try not to freeze in the cold rain!  It was...
