Haircuts

Just before school starts I usually cut all the kids hair. This year I needed a haircut at the same time so I took the girls in and got all three of us then. Evelyn decided that she wanted a short cut. It is hard for me to watch her hair go but she looks cute anyway. She likes it because she can comb through it all by herself. I do worry about it a little bit more because it will be harder to keep it back in case of lice outbreaks.

24th of July BBQ

The Clinger family hosted barbecue every year for the 24th of July . Pioneer Day is a very fun day. They had some amazing fireworks and Todd even built a wooden bunker in the middle of the street so that if anything tipped over it would run into the wood instead of into the crowd. It was pretty cool.

Our week

All week has been lots of babysitting. My friend is moving so I watched her kids twice this week for all day, plus watching Quinn and Ian like normally... one of the days we got to go to the pond over in American Fork. We had just gotten back from Bear Lake, Evelyn wasn't so happy to go but we met 5 of our neighbors there. One of them is having a hard time with her postpartum depression and I thought it was important to be there. Evelyn had just gotten over being dehydrated from our week at Bear Lake .  She wasn't very excited to spend any more time in the water .  We just took a book and she sat in the grass and read under a canopy . Since it was on Wednesday I was going to take Quinn and Ian with us. Ian's mom asked if we could take Ian's cousin with us too because she's visiting here from Switzerland. The kids had fun but it was very hot I was glad we were in the water.

For your future

9 year old son, so you know.... in the future you won't be angry at me for making you empty the dishes even after you did your chores.  You'll probably ask your children to do things to contribute in your house, even after they think they've done their fair share.  For your future.... I'm not mad because of your tantrum, but I do hope that you will someday understand that Mom and Dad are not the bad guys.

So this girl just totally cleaned her room with a hairnet on from a visit to the school cafeteria.

Once upon a time

Once upon a time, Jer's Grandpa Robertson took pictures of us while Jer and I were fencing. He printed them on paper and filed them away. Jer's dad found it in his stuff and thought we'd get some enjoyment out of it. Which we did.
