Our city does this every 4th of July and I think it's the coolest thing ever... I love looking at all the stuff even if the kids aren't quite sure that they know what everything is or not... I missed some of the 16th century stuff (they had armor that you could put on) because I took Sam to the potty... We got to go with John and Diane's family... it was awesome!

Pre 4th party
Before the festivities on the 4th, we always do other stuff. Hiking, swimming, soccer, etc.... here it is...
Princess Tea Party
Wow... I'm sad and glad that the last few weeks are done. There was just SO MUCH! But we did have a ton of fun with Marg and her kids, Mary's whole family, Becca's family, John's family, Grandma and Granpa.... and now we get to hang out with Amy and her kids, Emily M and her kids, and Jay. It's kind of fun living at the hub of all family activity. We did lots of things while they were here over the 4th of July, but one of them was our "T" day.... we made it our Tuesday Tea Party for the girls and Tuesday Train Day for the boys. Jer threatened to come dressed to the tea party as Thomas the Train. Yep, yep. Even the big girls had fun. I helped Evelyn not break her dishes, Kate dressed up as Princess Leia since she's officially a Disney princess, right? And Ruth discovered that Grandma's dress ups still fit her... if only just. Ada LOVED it and asked for a tea party for her birthday.

Playing with Seth
Seth will be an amazing dad. Here he is making shadow puppets and make believe games with my kids....
My kids said he was the bad guy... so he "poisoned the cake", Ada ate it and then he told Sam to hurray and get the antidote. Too cute.

Loving Ada
Ada and Sam were wrestling and this is what I hear:
Sam - "AHHHH!"
Ada - "Please, oh please be my prisoner!"
Sam - "Bwahahahaha!"

My favorite
I love sitting in this exact spot listening to Sam, Ada, Anya, and Joey play pretend. And absolutely love listening to Evelyn sing nonsense songs as she walks back and forth on the beach.
Visitors
I'm posting from my phone so I can't type too much, but we had the Robertson 4th of July reunion and had a blast. 6 of the 9 families were able to make it... But we played games, talked, did home made ice cream, swam, and just had fun. We left early for my family reunion so we missed saying goodbye to all these awesome people. But I loved being there.... Thanks!

What a week!
This week we've had such a fun one...
We've played at Great-Grandma's, had our fencing final (which Joseph won), hung out in the heat with Tarkington and Brasher's, and celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary.
My wonderful family gave Jer and I a kid free weekend where we enjoyed Shoga, window shopping, a movie, playing games without kids. (I did miss them though honestly... isn't that funny?)
Something cool happened this week too. We got a letter from the Church History people asking for anything that my grandpa had on post World War II Tahiti Mission. Which I so happened to scan and organize about 2-3 years ago and didn't know what to do with it after that. It's so exciting to know where to go now.
My literal son
When shown a map in Primary and asked what it is Sammy raises his hand and says enthusiastically, "A piece of paper!"

Kids
I'm so grateful that my kids are willing to be kids... They are willing to swim, ride bikes as fast as they can, try to fly kites without wind blowing, scrape knees, climb on furniture, eat cookie dough, pet animals in the street, knock on neighbors doors just to say hi, dig in the dirt, read funny books, make blanket forts, cuddle with mom in bed, give big hugs around the neck, and swing until they are sick. Just saying.
