Japan 3

The next day we traveled about an hour away to see Meji Jingu, Shinjuku Station, and Inokashira Park.  I'm sorry, I separated the pictures by day but not really by location.  I have about two hours to talk about 3 weeks worth of activities.
We started figuring out the trains pretty quickly. And Google Translate.

There are a couple of places that they have these.  They are Sake barrels.  I think they look very pretty.

This gem was thanks to Seth.  He was taking pictures of the forest and I told him not to take pictures of strangers.... so he took this one.

Inokishira Park was a place that Jer's Dad spent a lot of time.  It was a good place to talk to people while he was serving.  My feet needed a break, so I stayed and painted in the park while everyone else wandered around.  The 3 younger kids would come sit by me as they got tired.  I remembered that you can't rush doing watercolors, but I did paint one that I was pretty happy with.

These three bird pictures were mine, the rest were taken by Jer/Jim/Ada.

We discovered the travel stamps that Japan has hidden at many of the historic/travel spots.

While we were at Meji Jingu, there was a baby there with their family and a wedding.  It was fun and we tried not to stare too much.

Monks that actually worship in Meji Jingu.

We found a KFC on the way.

After the park we did two more things.  We wandered the fascinating Shinjuku Station stores and we visited a Pig Cafe.  We fed veggies to them and they cuddled up on us.  All of them had Ghibli names.  Porco, Totoro, Pazu, Shita, etc...

All of them wanted to sit on Sam.  It was funny.

One of them really wanted to bite my toes so I put an apron over my toes for them to nibble on.

This is the chapel that was built where the old chapel had been.  Grandpa's apartment was pretty much connected to it.

We got our fortunes told.

Rhees Family

This is such a fun family.  They're sweet and playful.  It's fun to get to know them and try not to freeze in the cold rain!  It was...
