Sam+Janelle+Seth=Ireland

Sam's been home for a couple of weeks, but I wanted to put up 200 of the best pictures from the 3 weeks he was gone.  He was nervous to be away from home, but when it was time to come back he was sad to come home.  He tried so many things, learned some neat things, got to see some family history areas, and got to be with his aunt and uncle.  He worked hard to earn money for this trip.  I'm so glad that he got to go and spread his wings a little.  I'm also glad to have him back.  I love having the constant music around the house and the happy guffaws that he provides.  He's also an amazing hugger!

This library was his favorite thing that they did.  I think it was in Dublin and it houses the book of Kells.

Even Uncle Seth would have to grow into this one.

It's only a flesh wound.

Sam loved this building.  He thought that it was really cool that it had grass on the roof.

He definitely fits.  Did you know that he's 85% Irish?  My sister said that all the little old ladies were sweet little dears with him.  They fawned on him and made sure that he had whatever he needed when he went into stores or restaurants.  They would all tell Janelle and Seth that Sam was such a sweetheart.  I agree.  He's very kind to others.

Giant's Causeway was my all-time favorite when I went to Ireland.  Sam enjoyed it, but he accidentally broke a pair of sandals climbing around on the stones, so I think he was bummed out that day.

He loved the vantage point from here.

He loved the food and he really only brought home a few things... a wind breaker, a tin whistle and music for it, chocolate to share and a Irish pub recipe book.  I think he's a fan.

Galway

All of them said that this was a pretty cool place to visit.

The Cliffs of Insanity!  Inconceivable!  Janelle says that there's an updraft that can blow up the side of the cliff and can sweep you off the edge, so you have to stay really far away from the edge.

Blarney

Sam loved the M&M vending machine.  He would love it even more if it were Skittles.

I loved the "Why not" above their heads here.

Hunky Dory

I love this picture so much!

This is the place that The Count of Montecristo was filmed at.

This was a Robertson Family history town.  Grandma Robertson told Sam 3 places that the Irish lines came from.  Grandma Wilcox also shared a couple of notable places to go to.  He got them a little mixed up, but it was fun to talk them through after he was home.

There were Nelly's places everywhere.

They took a picture of this particular organ just for me.  That's awesome!

Spectacular!

Janelle and Seth said that this old time copper was very cute with Sam.  He showed him the old handcuffs with a key very much like the skate keys.

Sam loved that there were dogs everywhere.  The day they went to the beach there was a dog that decided that Sam throwing rocks in the water was really Sam playing fetch.  He loved it.

He said that this is where the monks lived when there were lots of raiders.... they could just pull up the ladder and raiders would leave them alone. It reminds me of the tower from the Shannon Hale book "Book of a thousand Days".

He loved this sign too.

He loved the local name for this monument. "The Thing with a Ring".

Rhees Family

This is such a fun family.  They're sweet and playful.  It's fun to get to know them and try not to freeze in the cold rain!  It was...
