Wilcox family reunion

My extended family went to Moab together last year while Jer and I were quarantining.  They liked it so much that my parents put together a Wilcox family reunion at the lava hot springs in Idaho.  We stayed in a cabin, went hiking, 4 wheeling, rode tubes down the river, went for ice cream, went swimming at the pool, had a Magic the Gathering battle, and hung out.  We went over my Dad's birthday, so it was fun to celebrate him and remember things together.

We did one of those panorama pictures with some of the kids.  That was fun.

This is Dad's birthday party around the fire.

This was the kids getting their awards for the Magic tournament.  I thought it was so cute.  My brother, Seth, hosted it and helped everyone get their decks ready for it.  Then they had 3 rounds over the 3 days.

Horsing around

McKay and Sophie brought up their 4 wheelers.  I took all the kids on a ride because I used to drive one when I was little.  Then McKay and I taught Ada and Sam how to drive it.  This one is Evelyn and I.

Seth and I.  Seth was in heaven.

Birthday ding dongs

My dad REALLY wanted to go to this 3D archery thing right by the cabin.  Apparently they aren't always open and with Covid they really haven't done it over this summer.  We went Saturday morning to check it out and it was by chance the very first time they had done it all summer.  It was a lot of fun.  Ada was pretty accurate.  Seth loved that there was a fake dinosaur that he can shoot.

Missionary time

We were lucky to be able to see cousin Joseph one more time as they were taking him to enter the MTC.  I think he's going to be a great missionary and I'm looking forward to seeing him as he works and learns.  He was absolutely beaming.

4th of July

We found a few smaller and safer fireworks that we did together as a family to tell the kids thank you for all the hard work they've been doing on the house.

4th of July was a fast Sunday this year.  A nice surprise was showing up to church and flags covered the lawn.  It was neat.

Robertson Family Reunion

We saw some cousins for the 3rd of July.  It was fun to catch up with everyone and see kids chatting and playing.

Pigsticks

Hal was so excited to watch pig sticks.

We didn't do fireworks this year because we've been dealing with a drought, but we did do sparklers.

Sundries

My brother, our neighbors and us are doing a D&D group together.  Jer is the first time Dungeon Master.  He's doing great and it's fun to see him.  We decided to paint some figures for it.  Jer figured out a way to shake up the paint with his power tool and I am reminded of his engineer brain.  I love how he's always figuring things out.

We got an extra figure for little Seth to paint.  He loved doing it and Uncle Seth is so patient.

We've also been painting the house the last couple of weeks.  It sounds like something so simple, but it can go on and on.  This is the girls room just after the furniture got put back.  We still need to organize and hang curtains, but both the girls were very active in painting their room.  Ada took initiative and did all the detail work very carefully on her own.  I was proud that she took ownership in her room.

Sam and Seth's room turned out really cute too.  Sam did most of it and I did the detail work in there.  Then I did the edging in my room, the hall/entryway, the basement and the missionaries came and painted our living room with us this morning.  That was fun.  Sam was all chatty and loved talking to them.  Seth made life as difficult as he could for two days because he was bored, but I didn't trust him to get the paint where it needed to go.  We still need to finish Jer's and my room, the hallway and the basement.  Hopefully we can finish in the next two weeks.

16th wedding anniversary

Jer and I just celebrated our 16th wedding anniversary.  I was supposed to be doing daycare, but my partner is awesome and took them for the day so that Jer and I could go do sealings at the Provo temple for the first time since covid started.  I was so glad to be there and to be there with Jer.  He's a good man that I love so very much.

Rhees Family

This is such a fun family.  They're sweet and playful.  It's fun to get to know them and try not to freeze in the cold rain!  It was...
