Acrobatics recital

Evelyn's always been our most flexible child... probably because she was born folded in half.  She's loved acrobatics.  I wish it were a little more like gymnastics, but that's okay.... it was worth a try.  They had their recital the other day.... I haven't found the pictures.  I think they were on the sd card that got lost with our family pictures.  They did their routine to Michael Jackson's Black or White song.  Evelyn was so funny.  I think she has a little ADD in her and gets focused on one specific thing and forgets what else is going on.  She got up there on the stage and focused on something... and pulled her shorts all the way up so that you couldn't see them.  It looked like she was wearing just a shirt. Then she didn't get a chance to do her solo trick because she got distracted and forgot her cue.  It's okay though.  I got a video of their practice the day before.... I have proof that she really did know what was going on.  She loved the hat... she kept talking about it for weeks before the show.  I took this picture because I thought I wouldn't make it to her recital.  It was right when I had a fencing class to teach, but then no one showed up and I said, "Yay!  I'm leaving!"

Seth with a baseball bat down his shirt.  Off for adventure.

Happy 34 years my brother and best Uncle ever

My niece Aubrey

Amy's daughter, Aubrey loves lots of things. One of her current hobbies is hair. She did a 12 stranded braid in mine the other day. Color me impressed.

Seth and Lydia

This is my other pair of soccer buddies. At least they'll see each other in nursery.

Soccer game buddies

Evelyn and Abby have been dance, Primary and soccer buddies.... I'm glad they've had some good times.

Sam's last game

Sam has loved soccer. I think it gives him a healthy outlet too. He's been on the same team as 3 of of neighborhood boys for the last two years. This next year they're all doing football. It will be a strange dynamic next year. He's looking forward to playing on the larger fields though. And I am too.

Ada's last game

The coach took time to point out each players strengths as we said goodbye. He called Ada the brick wall of goalies and that she never let's anything through.

Moving is hard work

Weekend

This was a very busy weekend.  The kids had their last soccer games for the season and my parents and brother moved into their new house.  It's a beautiful home.  It's nice and sunny, open and I love the kid bonus area upstairs.  They were able to get in and mostly unpacked in record time.  I took the kids to their games and Jer worked about half the day moving stuff in.  Unfortunately, his back had been tender for several days and he put it out.  After everything was done, I took him to the ER.  Our first ER visit in our marriage.  He wasn't able to walk or stand.  But the XRay showed that it wasn't his back, it was a soft tissue thing.  Sunday he stayed home with baby Seth... the kids were super good sitting through Sacrament meeting without parents for most of it.  I came back and picked up Seth for Nursery.  During third hour he was poopy, I changed him and he didn't want to go back to nursery... so he stayed with me in RS.  I was playing the piano, so he just sat with a hymn book open and sang his heart out during the closing song.

This was a goal that Evelyn made.  I was glad she had that experience.  Mostly she likes to hang back and defend the other goal.

Kindergarten Zoo day

Evelyn's Kindergarten class went to the Zoo on Monday.  I took Seth and we went too.  He was sooooo excited about the trains.  He thought the animals were cool enough to walk through the whole park for, but every time we came to animals by the train tracks nothing else mattered.... Tracks Mom!  I finally ended up taking him on the train and he said, "We go inside the train!?" After we were done I asked what his favorite animal was, "The train!"

This happy girl was so excited to do something fun.  She almost didn't sleep the night before.

She thought that the reptile room was soooo stinky and wanted everyone to acknowledge it.  She plugged her nose for almost 20 mins.  She finally flagged me down and asked, "Mom, doesn't it smell so bad in here?"  I said that it sure does and she said okay and let her nose go.

Rhees Family

This is such a fun family.  They're sweet and playful.  It's fun to get to know them and try not to freeze in the cold rain!  It was...
