Springville Art Museum

I love this place. The kids mostly like the sculpture garden because they can touch those, but I appreciate that they let me wander through the rest on occasion.  I love the maturity that some of the high school students on display have in their work.

Geneva Steel

I'd always wanted to take pictures in the big melting pot from Geneva Steel.  I finally made a moment and took the kids. They thought it was pretty cool and weren't ready to leave when it was time.

Ada

Ada learned about Egypt in class last week.  She brought home a picture of our family if we had been early Egyptian.

I just can't get enough

Lizzie and her traveling companions

Newest

This one was fun because the pretty color. Funny thing, I never was big into purple...But I like this one.

Evelyn

I walked into my bedroom this morning to find Evelyn laying on her back with her feet in the air.  Her feet were "talking".  Apparently they were telling knock-knock jokes to each other.

Lizzie came to town

So our niece, Elizabeth, came down with 4 guys to join a National Choir for a week.  Jer took the kids to play and I went to the early Saturday performance at Abravanel Hall.  They were absolutely amazing!  I especially loved the first piece they sang.  And all their music was in Spanish.  So fun. After the concert, Lizzie had about 5 hours to kill so we took her to Kneaders for lunch and we all went to go see the Meet the Mormons movie in the Legacy theater on Temple Square.  Jer was the only one to have seen it.  I thought it was really well done.  I really liked the segment on the Mormon Bishop and his family.  Ada actually really enjoyed it, but Sam, Evelyn and Seth all slept right through it...

Jer took the kids up to the 3rd floor to look down.  Thanks to my new handy camera I could still get a good picture of them.

Lizzie in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building.

Jer got a table tennis set as a white elephant gift... while Jer has never used it, the kids think it's the greatest thing ever.

New camera

Can I just say that I'm spoiled rotten.  When our camera broke, Jer bought me a new one as an early birthday and Mother's Day present.  And to think that all I got him was chocolate... (well, a lot of chocolate).  I love it and I'm definitely not used to it yet.  It's higher quality images and can take really good pictures in very low light without the flash... I'm not used to how bright it makes it all... I need to remember to adjust for that when I'm doing things that I want a high contrast on or a back light look. Thanks Jer!  You are amazing!

Rhees Family

This is such a fun family.  They're sweet and playful.  It's fun to get to know them and try not to freeze in the cold rain!  It was...
