Words

My kids like soundtracks.  We were listening to The Hunt for Red October in the car... One of the asked if the words of the song was "up to bed" instead of "hunt the red"... For the next ten minutes they all sang "up to bed" over and over again... And the next time that song came on in the car, Evelyn said, "I don't want the up to bed song! I want the loud, loud, loud song!"

Grumpy Sam

This has Been Sam lately... Which is actually kind of funny... At school he's happy and friendly. At home he's grumpy and moody. He spent 10 mins not smiling for Ada's birthday picture... Then got mad at me when I told him there wasn't time to finish his breakfast before school.

7 yrs old

I have a seven year old... I have to say that she is pretty amazing. She helps me a lot.  She's smart and funny. She's friendly. She loves to dance and loves music. I'm so glad we have her.

Sharing

Baby blue

Is this the color the they refer to as baby blues?  They're not bright blue, but they haven't changed yet...

Family night

We had a backyard movie with the Haleua family and Sarah S. for family night tonight. That was fun... A tad cold... Thank goodness for blankets, but I had a blast.

Earlier today, I took the kids to pick stuff from Grandma and Grandpa Robertson's garden. Evelyn loved picking raspberries. Sam loved picking squash, and I obviously need to learn about picking corn.

Ada lost tooth #9

Ada has lost and grown in 8 adult teeth. Fun and cute, but her mouth doesn't seem big enough for all the big teeth. #9 started coming loose because the big teeth were pushing it to the side. The dentist didn't want her to wiggle it because it was too early for it to come out. She's left it alone for about a month, but Saturday it came out. We were just sitting at lunch and she started crying. I thought she'd bit her cheek. Then she had blood coming out of her mouth. She said that she got a spoon stuck between her teeth and it made the root brake.  She was panicked that it wasn't supposed to come out, but I told her that in this case, it was mostly out and that she should just pull it all the way... Very exciting.

Decisions, decisions

While bathing the baby this morning, I was debating whether to take a shower before I pick up Sam and run errands after or run errands with just two kids and shower after I do school pick ups.  Baby made up my mind for me.  I wrapped him up in his towel and bent over to dump out the baby bath... and he spat up not only all over himself, but also all down my leg.  While I was wiping that up with his towel he peed down my other leg... Showering now sounded a lot more appealing all of a sudden.

This morning

Evelyn woke herself up this morning and came down stairs to me where I was doing dishes. She asked for breakfast and told me that her diaper was dirty. I went to get her a sippy cup and I hear her tiny voice behind me saying, "Mommy, I'm peeing." I turn around to see her standing in a big puddle. I pull up her pj's and she had taken off her own diaper and gotten panties out of her drawer to wear. Cute and all, but she's still refusing to use the potty consistently for the whole day...
