Lastest kid photo shoot

These are some cute kids... there are 8 of them... 5 girls and 3 boys... and ironically the 3 boys were the hardest ones to shoot.

Battle Cry: SPOON!

Sammy has a fetish... Spoons. He'll wake up in the morning... I get him changed and put him on the floor and off he goes... down the stairs and to the kitchen. A few rattles later and you'll see him coming back up the stairs with 2-4 spoons in his hands. Then he'll wander the house with them for a few hours and heaven help anyone who tries to take his spoons from him! He has a grip of steel, I swear!

The last two weeks

I'm tired... I must admit that everything is draining me... but we've had fun and here are the pictures to prove it. And for some reason... blogger has been putting my pictures in a backwards order if I upload lots at the same time. I don't really have the time to get them all straight so just remember that the bottom ones were first. They're pictures of our Saturday with a hike, picnic and 3 birthday parties. Our visit to Bridal Veil Falls, to the Kenicott Copper mines, etc...

Firsts

Well, here's a list of new firsts...

Ada's eaten her first penny... I heard a gagging sound, turned around and she looked at me all shocked and said,"Mommy, my penny went in there!"

Sammy says his first sentence, "Hi Daddy!" And he'll say it anytime he even hears daddy even in the other room.

I built a swing set for the first time... very exciting.

We had a child put something in the toilet. Sammy's played in the potty before but this is the first time either have ever put anything in it... Jer's socks.

Ada's started picking her nose... I think she has the same stuffy junk that I have going on... but she got some on her shirt and told me, "Mommy, there's snots on me."

We went to 4 birthday parties in one day.

New Spice | Study like a scholar, scholar

This one is hilarious! Especially because the Old Spice commercial that it's based off of is my favorite one ever.

Picture of kids at Arctic Circle

Okay...

Today has calmed down a bit from yesterday so I'll steal a minute away so that I can write about yesterday.

First off, Jer's and my friend Jenny came to visit with her three kids from Florida. We missed you Jed, but I'm really glad that Jenny was generous with her time... She had to drive down from Salt Lake to see me. It was fun to catch up and to see that new little baby Jacob! They were our hang out couple from when we lived in the Sharon ward 3 years ago... We'd get together to do all sorts of geeky things... I was also Jenny's piano teacher and she coached me on books to read about the Salem Witch Trials. (She was a history teacher at UVU). Thanks Jenny for coming! I loved seeing you and we'll try really hard to get out to see you in Florida before Jed graduates!

Then Judy came to hitch a ride with us up to Liberty Park... I would have gotten lost if not for her! It was such a fun park! Kids played in the little streams and got wet to their hearts desire. We left when Mr. Creepy-watch-kids-from-the-trees-while-holding-his-bicycle decided to hang around. We went to Artic Circle for ice cream where I finally took the time to figure out who all was there... we had 17 kids and 7 adults... All the kids who were 2-6 years old sat in one large booth and the adults sat opposite them... you can guess which one needed the most clean up after. Sammy slimed me good on the back of my shirt with his little complimentary cone, and Ada's mouth somehow started bleeding through all this... (It couldn't have had anything to do with the fact that she was sitting with her three wrestling boy cousins could it? Oh well, blood happens.)

Then... I had to run to Kinko's to get the bookmarks that had been printed for the night's meeting with our new consultants. They had them printed... but not cut. Nice. Then I was going to try to hurry through the meeting to make it to a going away dinner for Jay... That didn't happen, but Jer got to go at least. It was a busy and very long day.

promised pictures from Ada's Bear Lake trip

Sammy putting himself to sleep the other day.

Just real quick

I'm really tired and would like to post about our whole day today... but I've got to go to bed... I'll post more tomorrow. I had a GREAT day despite the many break downs that come with days full of fun... but one of the few minutes that we were at home I was upstairs helping Ada go to the bathroom and I heard Sammy start crying downstairs... The crying was coming closer so I figured he was okay and that he'd get to me the time I was done with Ada's little crisis. When I did see him this is what I saw and wish I had a camera for... ... ... 13 month old Sammy, just starting to be stable in his walking... walking down the hallway in nothing but his diaper, clutching the blue and white polka dot balloon he got at my dad's birthday party 4 days ago so it's getting kind of old, and holding one of my John Denver CDs in the other hand and just bawling. (Yes, I like John Denver. Don't hold it against me.) I sooooo wish I had had a camera right then.

Happy Anniversary cont...

So here's what we had planned vs what we've done for our anniversary...

We had planned on our parents taking kids from Wed til Thursday evening. I was going to go pick up Jer from work and we were going to go to the Oquirrh Mount temple then up to Salt Lake to go to dinner at "The New Yorker". Then Thurs we were going to go rock climbing at the Quarry and then get massages at Solase... then we were thinking of going to a movie or just window shopping...

On Tuesday Jer brought me two beautiful bouquets of flowers... On Tuesday night Sammy started throwing up and didn't finish until the morning. On Wed I get behind on my mightyauthors work... Jer bought us the new Lego Harry Potter game and Wii Sports Resort as a consolation prize. That was fun to play both of those. On Thursday we cleaned up after all the messes we'd made the day before... and then we decided to go to Park City for a little while. We had fun going down their Historic Main Street and going to the World Market. We ate at Cafe Rio then drove home... where Ada promptly threw up her hot chocolate onto our beige carpet. That was the nastiest thing I've ever smelled! One good point about that is that neither of our kids have thrown up ever.... so this is a first in 2 1/2 years...

Even though it's not what we had planned... at least I don't have to deal with two sick kids on my own. That's always nice!

Rhees Family

This is such a fun family.  They're sweet and playful.  It's fun to get to know them and try not to freeze in the cold rain!  It was...
